A sneak peek into my new life, widowhood… and the books that saved me!

Hi there lovelies! 👋🏻👋🏻 I want to officially welcome everyone to Widowish in Dallas!

This has been a big dream of mine for quite some time now, after losing my significant other of 5 years to Cystic Fibrosis in March of 2021. Something happened shortly after Tyler passed, that made me want to begin this journey and share my experiences and advice in hopes of helping others in similar situations and I cannot believe that dream is finally becoming a reality! I’ll tell you all about what happened that brought me here in a minute, so surreal! It has been an 18 month whirlwind of emotions but I am so happy to finally be doing something that I love. It is OFFICIALLY my birthday month so what better way to kick this month off than with my most recent dream coming to fruition?!!

Let me do a quick little introduction! My name is Lauren and I am a 26 year old dog mama living in the North Dallas area in Texas with my 9.5 year old blue pitbull boxer named Khloe. I am an unmarried widow after losing her daddy, Tyler, last March 14th. I have always wanted something like this to call my own, to pour my heart and soul into and now feels like the perfect time to finally do so! I have learned and grown so much over the last year and a half and it would warm my heart if my experiences and tips, advice and suggested products could help you and change your life as well. Most importantly I want you all to know and feel like you are NOT alone in how you are feeling! I don’t plan on sticking just to widowhood and grief here; I want this to be a place for everyone to find help, suggestions and pretty amazing products I love with some coupon codes for my followers and readers!

Some of my favorite things and possible upcoming topics besides grief and widowhood include: alllllll of the best tv shows and movies (in my opinion🤣), dog mom central, the best Dallas finds/spots for all you Dallas locals or those here on vacation, all of my favorite products and must haves for the likeminded shopaholic, the one and only non-profit foundation most near and dear to my heart, my favorite animal non-profit, essential oils and so much more!

So here I am… after months of non stop crying, something surreal and life changing happened to me that led me to this new life and here with you all. It began when I went to bed one night during the Summer of 2021. I got a few hours of sleep in and when I woke up around midnight, I just had this feeling and knowing of Tyler giving me a million little kisses. I don’t know how, still to this day, but I remember waking up and somehow knowing what just happened. I was wracking my brain all weekend trying to figure out what exactly this was, all the way up until my grief therapy that upcoming Monday. My therapist asked me if I believed in afterlife and I told her “I mean I believe in mediums and what they do but other than that I don’t know much..”. We left it at that which led to my happy ass googling the topic and that is when I came across this article about a medium who was talking about her book on a tv show. It was called “Do Dead People Watch You Shower?” by Concetta Bertoldi. The book is basically her answering questions, cover to cover, that people have asked her over the years of her being a medium. I immediately went to get the book that Monday night and dove right in (finished it in less than 24 hours too!). Much to my surprise, it answered questions I had and questions I didn’t even know I had. It specifically answered what had happened that Saturday night..

Spoiler alert! What happened that night was actually a visit from Tyler and yes, that is a real ass thing that happens! Different then a dream! See page 215 for the answer to dreams versus visits!! After the visit, I was on my way home after finishing the book that Tuesday night and I ended up playing a song that I said in my head ‘Tyler used to like this song”. I began singing and then it paused like it had been doing because my car’s radio had been acting funky but it paused for way longer. It then skipped, and I know it skipped because I had been singing along and knew the next words. When it finally played after skipping, the next words and I kid you not, were “And if a genie gave me a million wishes id spend them all on all your kisses”. Another spoiler alert! Souls/Spirits love to give us signs and what Concetta calls it, validation from the Other Side. One of the many ways they love to do that is through music! After reading that in a day, I ended up getting her next two books. The second book is titled “Do Dead People Walk Their Dogs?” and the third, “Inside the Other Side!”. All three were absolutely amazing reads (I am by no means a reader) and were so incredibly helpful in my healing journey. Still to this day, I use what I learned through those books in every day life and developed a different perspective on the future. If any of you reading do get the books and feel the urge to share you stories with me, my inbox is always open💗💗 If these books sound like your kinda books, I will link her following two books below!!
